Glen Ridge Man Charged With Theft By Deception & Forgery

Monday, September 16, 2024, 6:00 P.M. ET. 1 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that following an investigation, Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit arrested and criminally charged a Glen Ridge, New Jersey, man with theft and forgery offenses.

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, Prince Narang, 37, of Glen Ridge, was taken into custody at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and formally charged with second-degree Theft by Deception and two counts of fourth-degree Forgery. He was processed on the charges and released on a complaint summons pending his first appearance in Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court, which is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 19, 2024.

The charges stem from an investigation that began when Narang’s company, Artisan Design and Construction, was contracted to perform construction work on a residential building in Jersey City, New Jersey. In order to begin work, Narang was required to show proof of valid insurance to the property owner and the bank.

Fraudulent Insurance Certificate

It has been alleged that Narang submitted a fraudulent Certificate of Insurance to the property owner and the bank to begin work. When the property owner attempted to file a claim for damage to the property, it was ultimately determined that the Certificate of Insurance and policy were invalid.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
