MATAWAN, NJ.- On Friday, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago reported that a 31-year-old Matawan, New Jersey man, who is employed as a school teacher in Ocean County, was taken into custody and charged with distributing child sexual abuse material.

Christopher A. Decesare, 31, of Matawan, has been formally charged with one count of second-degree Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material.

Investigation

The charge stems from an investigation that began in July 2024 when Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Bureau’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual was distributing child pornography on a social media platform.

During the subsequent investigation, Detectives uncovered that Decesare was utilizing a social media platform to distribute child pornography to others on the platform. Detectives further uncovered that Decesare was receiving child pornography on his personal email account.

Decesare Arrested

Decesare was taken into custody without incident on Thursday, August 29, 2024, by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Search Warrant Execution Team and the Matawan Police Department.

At the time of his arrest, Decesare was employed as a Music Teacher and Orchestra Director at Toms River Intermediate South School in Ocean County, New Jersey.
