Huntington Man Sentenced Prison For Crack & Fentanyl Offenses

HUNTINGTON, W.VA.- On Monday, September 16, 2024, David Dwayne Moore, also known as “B,” 47, of Huntington, West Virginia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Robert C. Chambers to 45 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release for Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl and Crack Cocaine.

According To U.S. Attorney Will Thompson

     According to U.S. Attorney Will Thompson, on January 4, 2023, Detectives of the Huntington Police Department executed a court-authorized search warrant on Moore’s Huntington apartment.

     During the search, Detectives found and seized around 32 grams of crack cocaine, 132 grams of fentanyl, and a Taurus G3 9mm handgun. In court, Moore admitted to possessing the controlled dangerous substances and that he intended to sell and distribute the substances. Moore further admitted to possessing the Taurus 9mm handgun.

     U.S. Attorney Will Thompson commended the investigative efforts of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Huntington Police Department for the investigation, conviction, and prison sentence.
