HUNTINGTON, W.VA.- On Monday, September 16, 2024, Andrew Nicholas-Scott Titus, 33, of Huntington, West Virginia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Robert C. Chambers to one year and one day in federal prison to be followed by 15 years of supervised release.

Monday’s sentence results from a violation of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act. Titus Failed to Provide Information related to Interstate Travel.

According to documents filed with the court, in June 2023, Titus relocated from Michigan to Lavalette, West Virginia. Again, in October 2023, Titus relocated from Lavalette to Huntington, West Virginia, where he resided in a home with four young children. Titus failed to register or update his registration as required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act after each relocation.

Titus Required To Register

U.S. Attorney Will Thompson reported that Titus is required to register as a sex offender and comply with the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act because of his prior convictions for gross indecency between a male and a female that occurred on March 21, 2022, and for distributing obscene materials to a minor on August 6, 2015, both in Wexford County, Michigan, Circuit Court.

U.S. Attorney Thompson commended the U.S. Marshals Service for its investigative work, which led to Titus’s arrest and conviction.
