FREEHOLD, NJ.- A 51-year-old Marlboro Township, New Jersey, man has been convicted of a years-long pattern of sexual and physical abuse that he inflicted upon his daughter that began in 2016.

According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, following a trial before Superior Court Judge Christie Bevacqua, a Monmouth County jury deliberated for just 80 minutes before finding Andrey V. Penkin, 51, of Marlboro Township guilty on the charges of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; second-degree Sexual Assault; and two counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Investigation Uncovers

An investigation by Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Bureau and the Marlboro Township Police Department uncovered that the abuse of Penkin’s daughter began in 2016 when the family resided in Sayreville, New Jersey.

Over the next few years, Penkin’s daughter endured numerous incidents of sexual abuse, both in Sayreville and at their following two residences in East Brunswick, New Jersey, and in Marlboro Township. In early 2023, after discovering his daughter was holding a pack of cigarettes for her friend, Penkin physically assaulted his daughter, causing a severe concussion and facial injuries.

Penkin was arrested and formally charged in April 2023. During the trial, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office presented medical records, witness testimony, and physical evidence, including his daughter’s diary, to prove its case.

When sentenced, at a date to be scheduled by the court, Penkin faces 25 years to life in New Jersey State Prison, with a mandatory minimum of 25 years under the Jessica Lunsford Act.
