Middlesex County Authorities Ruled Wednesday’s Shooting Suicide

CARTERET, NJ.- On Thursday, September 19, 2024, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone reported that the death investigation into a man who died of a gunshot wound has been ruled a suicide.
On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, shortly before 3:00 p.m., Detective Keith Cassens of the Carteret Police Department and Detective Stephanie Redline responded to the area of Pershing and Union Avenues after receiving a 911 Emergency Call from a family member reporting that a man had shot himself.
Upon arrival, Police Officers and Detectives found the man who had succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound. The man was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
   An investigation by Detectives and a subsequent autopsy by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the man’s cause of the man’s death a gunshot wound and the manner to be suicide.
