Hudson County Arson Task Force Investigating Wade Street House Fire

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Today, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported that the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Jersey City Fire Department are continuing the investigation into Tuesday’s morning fire that critically injured a 61-year-old woman.
On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, shortly after 6:30 a.m., the Jersey City Fire Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a fire at 81 Wade Street in Jersey City.
Upon arrival, Firefighters found a fire in the first-floor apartment of a residential building. Upon entering the building, Firefighters discovered an unresponsive 61-year-old woman inside the apartment, having sustained serious injuries. The woman was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where she remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
