Police Are Searching For The Vehicle That Struck A Man & Fled The Scene

On Saturday, September 21, 2024, just shortly after 9:30 p.m., members of the Toms River Township Police Department responded to Massachusetts Avenue and Mobile Lane after receiving a 911 Emergency Call reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle that fled the area.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man suffering from injuries. The man was immediately transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
A subsequent investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Toms River Township Police Department, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit determined that the vehicle, which is believed to be a Blue Volkswagen sedan, was traveling northbound on Massachusetts Avenue when it struck the man and fled the area.
