On Monday, September 23, 2024, at around 9:30 p.m., members of the Seaside Heights Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle that fled the scene in the area of Dupont Avenue and the Boulevard in Seaside Heights.

Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 75-year-old man lying in the roadway, suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle. The man was immediately transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey, where, as of Tuesday, he was listed in critical condition.

Investigation Identifies Mcinaw

A subsequent and swift-moving investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Seaside Heights Police Department, with assistance from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, determined that a dark-colored sedan was traveling southbound on the Boulevard when it struck the man and fled the scene.

Further investigation by Detectives uncovered that the vehicle was being operated by Mcinaw when it struck the man, who then fled, leaving him lying in the roadway.

Detectives Require Court-Authorized Blood Test

On Tuesday, Detectives took Mcinaw into custody at her residence without incident. Following her arrest, She was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where she submitted to a court-authorized blood draw.

After submitting to the blood test, Detectives processed Mcinaw on the charge and transported her to the Ocean County Jail pending future court proceedings in Ocean County Superior Court. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion with the court to have Mcinaw detained pending trial.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
