Kearny Man Charged In Harrison, New Jersey’s May 2024 Hit & Run

HARRISON, NJ.- On Thursday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez reported, that following an investigation, a 52-year-old Kearny, New Jersey, man was on Wednesday in connection with a hit-and-run collision that seriously injured a pedestrian in Harrison, New Jersey, during the early morning hours of May 17, 2024.
Detectives File Charges
Detectives have formally charged Robert Marmora, 52, of Kearny, with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury; and Endangering an Injured Victim.
Marmora was taken into custody on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus, New Jersey, and was processed on the charges and released on a complaint summons pending his first appearance, which has been tentatively scheduled for October 17, 2024, in Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court in Jersey City, New Jersey.
The charges stem from an investigation that began on May 17, 2024, when, at around 2:00 a.m., members of the Kearny Police Department responded to the intersection of Harrison Avenue and South 5th Street in Harrison after receiving a 911 Emergency Call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle that fled the scene.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 66-year-old Harrison, New Jersey, woman suffering from serious injuries from being struck by a motor vehicle. The Woman was immediately transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment of serious injuries to her lower and mid-body.
Detectives Identify Vehicle
During the investigation, Detectives of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit were able to identify Marmora’s Ford EcoSport as the vehicle that struck the woman and that Marmora was the operator of the EcoSport.
