MARTINSBURG, W.VA.- On Monday, September 30, 2024, Daniel Eliazar Ramos Rosa, 24, a Honduran national, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Gina M. According to documents filed with the court, Rosa exchanged over 1000 sexually explicit messages, digital images, and videos with a young girl he met online on the social media application Snapchat.
After exchanging messages, digital images, and videos over months with the child, Rosa ultimately traveled to the United States and then to the child’s Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, home and engaged in sexual activity with the girl while filming the sex contact with his cell phone.
Judge Groh ordered that Rosa be subject to supervised release for life upon completing his 327-month federal prison term.
