BELVIDERE, NJ.- On Friday, September 27, 2024, Garry N. Bunting, 33, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, appeared in Warren County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Jonathan W. Romankow to concurrent sentences for sex crimes upon two juveniles, one 16-years-old in January 2022, and another 11-years-old, in October 2021. Both the victims were known to Bunting.
Bunting was initially charged with human trafficking and sex crimes constituting sexual assault after he met the two children on the social media application Snapchat.
During Friday’s sentencing hearing, Judge Romankow sentenced Bunting to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison on a previously entered guilty plea on a charge of second-degree Sexual Assault. The sentence was handed down subject to the No Early Release Act, which will require Bunting to serve 85% of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole.

Judge Romankow further ordered Bunting, upon his release from prison, to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law requirements. Bunting will also be subject to parole supervision for life.
Bunting remains detained in the Warren County Jail pending transfer to the custody of the New Jersey Department of Corrections to begin serving his prison sentences.
