SCRANTON, PA.- On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, a Federal Grand Jury for the Middle District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment against Ivan Nicholas Baez, 45, of Kunkletown, Pennsylvania, on charges of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of Children.

According to U.S. Attorney Gerald M. Karam, charges unsealed in Monday’s indictment allege that on multiple occasions, Baez produced digital images of child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office filed the indictment with the court, and Baez will be scheduled for arraignment on a date determined by the district court.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child exploitation and abuse.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
