Rochester Man Sentenced To Prison For Drug & Narcotics Charge

ROCHESTER, NY.- On Monday, September 30, 2024, Jaomi Delgado, 31, of Rochester, New York, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Charles J. Siragusa to 120 months in federal prison for his past conviction on the charge of Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of Drug Trafficking.
According to U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross and Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert A. Marangola, who prosecuted the case, on May 18, 2022, federal agents observing Delgado, who had been the subject of a months-long investigation into narcotics distribution throughout the Rochester, New York area.
While conducting mobile surveillance, agents observed Delgado driving into a parking lot on Norton Street in Rochester, getting out of his vehicle, and entering a restaurant.
Agents Observe Gun In Plain Sight
After entering the restaurant, agents approached Delgado’s vehicle and observed a firearm in plain view on the center console of the vehicle. Delgado was immediately taken into custody as he exited the restaurant.
Delgado’s vehicle was towed and searched according to a court-authorized search warrant. During the search, agents found a loaded .40 caliber handgun, 60 fentanyl pills, four cell phones, and $17,875 in U.S. currency.
U.S. Attorney Ross stated Monday’s sentence is the culmination of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Rochester Police Department.
