Wednesday, October 2, 2024, 7:45 A.M. ET. 1 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

PITTSBURGH, PA.- U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan reported that on Tuesday, October 2, 2024, a Federal Grand Jury for the Western District of Pennsylvania returned a two count indictment against John J. Flick, 58, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on charges of Escape and Bank Robbery.

According To Charging Information

According to the charging allegations returned in the indictment, on September 2, 2024, without authorization, Flick absconded from a halfway house located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he was serving out the balance of a previous sentence for a 2021 bank robbery. The second count of the indictment alleges that on the following day, Flick entered and robbed a bank in Dormont, Pennsylvania.

If convicted on the charges returned in the indictment, Flick faces up to 25 years in federal prison and a $500,000 fine, or both. The actual sentence would be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge based on the seriousness of the offenses and Flick’s prior criminal history.

U.S. Attorney Olshan commended the investigative efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Allegheny County Police Department, which resulted in the return of the indictment.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
