Westwood Man Charged With Criminal Sexual Contact Of Teen Girl

WESTWOOD, NJ.- On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, a 65-year-old Westwood, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed following being charged in connection with an incident involving the alleged sexual assault of a teen that occurred last Saturday in the Borough of Westwood.
Today, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the Westwood Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit after Westwood Police Officers received a report regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile under the age of sixteen.
An investigation by Detectives of the Bergen County Special Victims Unit and the Westwood Police Department, and after interviewing witnesses, including the child victim, determined that Sylvester R. Jackson, 65, of Westwood, New Jersey, sexually assaulted the child under the age of sixteen in the Borough of Westwood, on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Charged On Wednesday
Accordingly, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Jackson was taken into custody in Westwood, New Jersey, and formally charged with second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and third-degree Criminal Sexual Contact.
Jackson was processed on the two felony charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
