Latham Woman Sentenced To Prison For Filming & Sexually Exploiting Child

ALBANY, NY.- On Thursday, October 3, 2024, Kristy Lynne Koldis, 46, of Latham, New York, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Mae A. D’Agostino to 180 months in federal prison to be followed by fifteen years of supervised release for the Sexual Exploitation of a Child.
According to U.S. Attorney Carla B. Freedman, during her previously entered guilty plea, Koldis admitted in court that she created sexually explicit content depicting lewd and lascivious depicting the child’s genitals from when the child was around 9 years old through the time the child was 13 years old.
Koldis further admitted to distributing the digital files over four years to Joshua White, who pleaded guilty on December 13, 2023, to Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography. White’s sentencing has been scheduled for December 12, 2024, in U.S. District Court.
Judge Accesses Financial Pentalities
During Thursday’s hearing, Judge D’Agostino, in addition to the prison sentence and term of supervised release, ordered Koldis to pay a special assessment fee of $55,000 and $5,000 in restitution to the victim and further ordered Koldis upon release from federal prison to register as a sex offender.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the New York State Police investigated the case. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
