CONCORD, NH.- On Thursday, October 3, 2024, Carlos Alejandro Chevalier Santos, 23, of Methuen, Massachusetts, appeared in U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Samantha Elliott to 36 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty pleas for his role in a drug trafficking organization.

According To U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young

According to U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young, in June 2024, Chevalier Santos appeared before Judge Elliott and pleaded guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance; one count of Distribution of Fentanyl; and one count of Distribution of Methamphetamine.

Chevalier Santos was part of a Methuen, Massachusetts-based illicit narcotics trafficking organization that was distributing large quantities of Methamphetamine and fentanyl throughout the Seacoast area. Chevalier Santos was identified as the organization’s runner, a person who makes deliveries of drugs on behalf of the organization.

In early 2024, Santos made at least two deliveries of controlled dangerous substances to an undercover investigator, including the delivery of a pound of methamphetamine. Charges are still pending against Chevalier Santos’ co-conspirators, Jose Luis Guerrero Nunez, Eddy Mendez Carmona, Juan Carlos De Los Santos Romero, and Luis Guerrero Cabral.

“Methamphetamine and fentanyl destroy lives and fuel violence in our communities,” said U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young. “Law enforcement in New Hampshire will continue to be relentless in the pursuit to identify individuals participating in drug trafficking at every layer of the supply chain.”

“DEA stands committed to keeping highly addictive drugs like methamphetamine and fentanyl off the streets of New Hampshire,” said Acting DEA Special Agent in Charge Stephen Belleau, Drug Enforcement Administration, New Egland Field Divison. “The sentence not only holds Mr. Chevalier Santos accountable for his crimes but serves as a warning to those traffickers who are contributing to the drug crisis in America. This investigation demonstrates the strength of collaborative law enforcement efforts and our strong partnerships with the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
