One Dead, Two Injured In Northeast DC Saturday Triple Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department are continuing the investigation into an early Saturday morning shooting that has claimed the life of a 33-year-old man and left two hospitalized from gunshot wounds.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, just shortly after 2:00 a.m., members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to the intersection of Trinidad and Queen Streets in Northeast Washington, D.C., on a report of gunfire.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found three adult victims, two men and a woman, all having sustained gunshot wounds on the ground in the rear of a building on the 1600 Block of Trinidad Avenue.

One Dead, Two Remain Hospitalized

     All three shooting victims were immediately transported to an area hospital, where one of the men, later identified as Najee Dickens of Northeast D.C., succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later. The other two shooting victims, an adult man and an adult woman remain hospitalized from non-life-threatening injuries.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue to search for the suspect or suspects.
