Washington D.C. Man Dies From Injuries After Being Shot Wednesday

WASHINGTON, DC.- A 43-year-old Northwest District of Columbia man tragically succumbed to injuries over the weekend and became the latest victim of senseless gun violence plaguing the streets of the nation’s capital in a Wednesday night shooting in the Northwest section of Washington, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, just shortly before 7:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of gunshots in the 700 Block of N Street in Northwest Washington, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Tiara Tompson, 43, of Northwest D.C., suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Service immediately transported Mr. Thompson to an area hospital for treatment.
Victim Dies From Injuries
Mr. Thompson remained hospitalized, and despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased on Saturday, October 5, 2024, by doctors.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the suspect or suspects.
