Kendall Park Woman Killed In South Brunswick Motor Vehicle Crash

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ.- Yesterday, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone reported that detectives are continuing the investigation into a motor vehicle crash that occurred last Thursday night in South Brunswick, New Jersey, tragically claiming the life of a 43-year-old Kendall Park woman.
On Thursday, October 3, 2024, shortly after 7:00 p.m., members of the South Brunswick Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a serious two-vehicle crash on Route 522 and Georges Road in South Brunswick.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a Hyundai Sonata with three occupants, which had been struck by a Jeep Liberty. The collision resulted in the three occupants sustaining severe injuries. All three were immediately transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where the rear passenger, identified as Ranjinidevi Ramakrishnan, 43, of Kendall Park, New Jersey, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Initial Investigation Determines Jeep Ran Red Light
The initial investigation, led by South Brunswick Patrolman Trevor Michie and Detective James Alleva of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, determined that the Jeep Liberty ran a red light and struck the Sonata.
The driver of the Jeep Liberty also sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment.
