D.C. Metro Police Asking For Public’s Assistance In Locating Murder Suspect

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in locating a male teen wanted in connection with the August 1, 2024, fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy in Northeast D.C.
According to Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, just shortly before 8:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of shots fired on the Unit Block of Tuckerman Street in Northeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a boy, later identified as David Bailey, 14, of Northeast, D.C., unresponsive from gunshot wounds. The boy was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. A second shooting victim, an adult male, was located and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
An investigation by D.C. Metropolitan Police Detectives were able to identify Andre Chillous, 17, of Northwest, D.C., as the shooter and the individual for the shooting death of Bailey and the wounding of the adult male.
