DETROIT, MI.- A 48-year-old Holly, Michigan man learned that he will likely die in prison after being sentenced on Tuesday to nearly a century in federal prison for the decades-long horrific sexual abuse of minor children.

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Jeremy McCallum, 48, of Holly, Michigan, appeared in U.S. District for the Eastern District of Michigan and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Kay F. Behm to 85 years in federal prison, followed by fifteen years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty pleas to all the charges in the indictment, including ten counts of the Sexual Exploitation of a Child; and one count of Possession of Child Pornography.

According to documents filed with the court and charging information unsealed in the indictment, on January 31, 2020, federal and state law enforcement executed a court-authorized search warrant at McCallum’s residence.

Federal And State Investigators Execute Search Warrant

During the search, investigators discovered hard copies and digital files depicting years-long, horrific sexual abuse of three minor children by McCallum. McCallum abused one minor girl for the better part of a decade, documenting his abuse of the child on VHS tape, on his cell phone, and Polaroid pictures.

McCallum sexually abused another child when she was just an infant, recording his sexual acts committed on the infant on VHS tape and again on his cell phone. Finally, on a VHS tape, an FBI agent uncovered an instance of sexual abuse that McCallum committed upon a minor boy.

Following years of criminal negotiations, McCallum agreed and pleaded guilty on June 18, 2024, to all the counts unsealed in the indictment.

“This defendant committed monstrous crimes. This prosecution and sentence should send a strong message to child predators; you will suffer severe consequences if you harm our children,” said U.S. Attorney Dawn N. Ison.

“The despicable acts of sexual exploitation, especially against children, are amongst the most horrific crimes investigated by our office,” said Cheyvoryea Gibson, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Michigan. “The sentencing of Jeremy McCallum is a direct result of the collaborative efforts between Michigan State Police and the FBI, Oakland County Resident Agency. This sentencing sends a clear and stern warning to those who believe they can prey on our most vulnerable population and evade justice. The successful prosecution by the United States Attorney’s Office of Eastern Michigan is a crucial step in the healing process for those victimized by Mr. McCallum’s deplorable and heinous actions.”
