Man In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Car Early Sunday Morning

BAYONNE, NJ.- A 25-year-old Bayonne, New Jersey, man remains hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a motor vehicle that fled the scene early Sunday morning in Bayonne, New Jersey

     According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, just shortly before 12:30 a.m., members of the Bayonne Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle on Route 440 near 22nd Street in the City of Bayonne.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 25-year-old Bayonne man suffering from multiple life-threatening injuries. The man was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains and is listed in critical condition.

     The initial investigation by responding Police Officers determined that the man was struck by a motor vehicle that then fled the scene.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing and is being conducted by Detectives of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Bayonne Police Department.
