Rochester Man Pleads Guilty To Receiving Child Pornography

ROCHESTER, NY.- On Friday, October 11, 2024, Gregory M. Brooks, 53, of Rochester, New York, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Frank P Geraci, Jr., to Receipt of Child Pornography.
Following entering his guilty plea, Judge Geraci accepted Brooks’ guilty plea and scheduled sentencing for February 6, 2025. At that time, Brooks faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross and charging information filed in the court, in February 2021, Brooks secretly placed a video camera in a bathroom where he knew that a minor victim showered. Brooks positioned the camera to capture naked videos of the minor child entering and exiting the shower.
Between February 2021 and August 31, 2023, Brooks received and stored the videos of child pornography captured by the video camera on his cell phone.
The plea results from a joint investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Greece Police Department.
