Police Search For Suspect Who Beat A Man To Death Early Sunday Morning

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ.- Middlesex County authorities are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding an early Sunday morning fight that claimed the life of a 34-year-old New Brunswick, New Jersey man.
According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, just minutes after 3:00 a.m., members of the New Brunswick Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an unconscious man on Comstock Street in the City of New Brunswick.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found Oscar Sanchez, 34, of New Brunswick, unresponsive, lying on the ground. Responding Police Officers performed CPR, and Sanchez was immediately transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts by medical staff, Mr. Sanchez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
An initial investigation led by Detective Brandt Gregus of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Stephanie Redline of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Mr. Sanchez was involved in a fight with an unknown individual and sustained serious injuries in the fight, which resulted in his death.
