New Milford Man Charged With Past Sexual Assaults Of A Juvenile

NEW MILFORD, NJ.- Following an investigation, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, a 31-year-old New Milford, New Jersey man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly sexually assaulting a juvenile who was between the ages of thirteen and eighteen at the time of the assaults occurred.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit were contacted regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that had occurred in the past.

     The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Milford Police Department, and the Dumont Police Department launched a joint investigation. During the investigation and following witnesses being interviewed, Detectives determined that Shaboo O. Williams, 31, of New Milford, sexually assaulted the teen on multiple occasions in New Milford, New Jersey.

Charges Filed Against Williams

     Accordingly, following the investigation, on Friday, October 11, 2024, Detectives formally filed charges against Williams for second-degree Sexual Assault; two counts of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and two counts of fourth-degree Criminal Sexual Contact.

     On Saturday, October 12, 2024, Williams was in New Milford and was taken into custody. Following being processed on the charges, Williams was transported and lodged in the Bergen County Jail, pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
