Victim Identified In Friday Night’s Fatal Hit & Run, Suspect Remains At Large

MIDLAND PARK, NJ.- On Wednesday, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported the investigation is continuing into Friday night’s fatal hit and run that occurred in Midland Park, New Jersey, that tragically claimed the life of a 70-year-old Wyckoff, New Jersey man.
As previously reported by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on Friday, October 11, 2024, shortly after 7:00 p.m., members of the Midland Park Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle on Godwin Avenue in the Borough.
Victim Identified
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Paul Adams, 70, who was last listed as living in Wyckoff, New Jersey, having sustained multiple life-threatening injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle. Mr. Adams was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
During the initial investigation, responding Police Officers determined that Mr. Adams was on Godwin Avenue when he was struck by a motor vehicle that fled the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Adams remains active and ongoing as Detectives are looking for the vehicle and driver that fled the scene.
