Retired Bergen County Sheriff’s Chief Charged For Child Pornography Offense

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported, that following an investigation into Internet child pornography activity. On Thursday, October 17, 2024, a 69-year-old Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed following being charged with a child pornography offense.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, on Thursday, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Franklin Lakes residence of Stephen Bojekian, 69, following an online child sexual abuse material investigation.
During the course of the investigation, Detectives determined that Bojekian utilized the internet to view, download, and possess digital images depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children.
Investigation Leads To Charges Being Filed
At the conclusion of the investigation and as a result of the search, Bojekian was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and was formally charged with one count of third-degree Possession of Child Pornography.
Following being processed on the charge, Bojekian was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
