Detectives Searching For Suspect In Monday’s Kentucky Avenue Murder

WASHINGTON, DC.- Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department are continuing the search for the suspect who gunned down a 23-year-old man Monday morning on Kentucky Avenue in Southeast D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Monday, October 21, 2024, members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District responded to multiple 911 Emergency Calls reporting a shooting in the area of Kentucky Avenue and 16th Street in Southeast D.C.
Police Officers Find Victim
Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders found a man, later identified as Jakele Allen, 23, of Northeast D.C., unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel pronounced Mr. Allen deceased a short time later.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made, as Detectives are continuing to search for the gunman and a motive for the fatal shooting of Mr. Allen.
