Man Struck & Killed Tuesday Night While Attempting To Cross Route 21

PASSAIC, NJ.- Detectives of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Investigations Unit are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified man who was struck and killed last night while attempting to cross Route 21 in Passaic, New Jersey.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, just shortly after 8:00 p.m., members of the Passaic Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle on Route 21 North in the City of Passaic.
   Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered that an Acura sedan had struck an unidentified man who was attempting to cross Route 21 in the northbound lanes. The man was immediately transported by First Responders to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 8:50 p.m. The driver of the Acura who struck the man remained at the scene and called Police after striking the man.
   The investigation remains active and ongoing. No charges or summonses have been filed at this time. More information may become available once released by authorities.
