Man Dies From Injuries Yesterday After Being Shot Friday Afternoon

WASHINGTON, DC.- Detectives of the Metropolitan Police Department are searching for the gunman in a shooting homicide after an 18-year-old Maryland man succumbed to injuries yesterday after he was struck by gunfire Friday afternoon on Quincy Street in Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, shortly before 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, while on patrol on the 3700 Block of Georgia Avenue in Northwest, D.C., a D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District Police Officer heard multiple gunshots, coming from a nearby street.
The Police Officer responded to the 800 Block of Quincy Street and found a teen unresponsive from gunshot wounds. The teen, later identified as Hazma Jamil Mubah-Wrotten, 18, of Clarksburg, Maryland, was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital and underwent emergency surgery.
Victim Succumbs To Injuries
On Monday, October 28, 2024, Mr. Mubah-Wrotten tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
