Huntington Man Pleads Guilty To Possessing Child Pornography

HUNTINGTON, W.VA.- Today, October 29, 2024, Ampless Ray Lilly, 52, of Huntington, West Virginia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Robert C. Chambers to Receiving and Possessing Child Pornography.

     Following entering his guilty plea today, Judge Chambers accepted Lilly’s plea and scheduled sentencing for February 10, 2025, at which time Lilly faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.

Lilly Admits Guilt

     According to U.S. Attorney Will Thompson and documents filed with the court, beginning on February 20, 2023, and lasting through April 23, 2024, Lilly knowingly received around 2,900 digital images and 1,100 video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children on his cellular phone while accessing the internet from his Huntington, West Virginia residence.

     During today’s hearing, Lilly admitted that the child pornography he downloaded included nude and sexually explicit images and video files depicting prepubescent and pubescent children. Lilly further admitted that some of the digital images and video files subjected children to sadistic and masochistic conduct and other depictions of sexual violence on children. Lilly also admitted that he accessed the internet to distribute or share child pornography.
