Arrest Made In October 7, 2024, Northeast D.C. Fatal Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith reported, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Detectives have taken a 19-year-old Northeast, D.C. man into custody and charged him in connection with the shooting death of a 29-year-old Alexandria, Virginia man.
The charge stems from an investigation that began on Monday, October 7, 2024, when shortly after 8:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting on the 100 Block of T Street in Northeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Taquan Turner, 29, of Alexandria, Virginia suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Mr. Turner was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigation Leads To Arrest On Tuesday
Following an investigation by the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Unit, Detectives were able to identify Malachi Davarchi Mack, 19, of Northeast, D.C. as the shooter and the individual responsible for the death of Mr. Turner.
Accordingly, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Mack was located and taken into custody and jailed after being charged with second-degree Murder While Armed.
