Columbus Man Sentenced To Prison For Drug & Firearms Charges

COLUMBUS, OH.- On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Jamal Rashad Frazier, 32, of Columbus, Ohio, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Sarah D. Morrison to 144 months in federal prison for his previously guilty pleas to federal drug and firearms violations.

     Frazier, who was initially charged in June 2023, appeared in U.S. District Court and pleaded guilty in June 2024 to Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Machine Gun; and Distribution of 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine. 

According To Charging Information

     According to U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Parker and documents filed with the court, in April and May 2023, Frazier sold and distributed methamphetamine and firearms with auto-conversion devices to an undercover federal agent on multiple occasions in Columbus, Ohio. 

     In total, Frazier possessed, distributed, and sold more than a kilogram of methamphetamine. Frazier sold four firearms, two of which had been converted to machine guns, to the undercover federal agent and possessed an additional three firearms at the time of his arrest.

     U.S. Attorney Parker commended the investigative efforts of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives for Frazier’s arrest, conviction, and federal prison sentence.
