Collision Unit Investigating Thursday Morning’s Fatal Motorcycle Crash

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Detectives of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a two-vehicle collision that occurred Thursday morning in Jersey City, New Jersey, that tragically claimed the life of a 43-year-old Jersey City motorcyclist.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, on Thursday, October 31, 2024, shortly before 9:00 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a serious motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle near the intersection of Route 1&9 and Sip Avenue in Jersey City.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a motorcycle and a GMC passenger vehicle that had collided just short of the intersection. The motorcyclist, identified as Steven Brown, 43, of Jersey City, was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts by doctors, Mr. Brown tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly around 10:00 a.m.
Investigators of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are continuing their investigation. No arrests have been made or summonses issued at this time.
