Lincoln County Man Sentenced To Prison For Narcotics Crimes

CHARLESTON, W.VA.- On Thursday, October 31, 2024, Jeffrey R. Lambert, 63, of Ranger, West Virginia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Joseph R. Goodwin to 60 months in federal prison followed by four years of supervised release for Possession with Intent to Distribute 5 Grams or More of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
According to U.S. Attorney Will Thompson and documents filed with the U.S. District Court on August 2, 2022, during an investigation, law enforcement investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at Lambert’s Ranger, West Virginia residence.
Investigators Execute Search Warrant
During the search, investigators uncovered and seized around 186 grams of methamphetamine, around 57 grams of fentanyl, and fentanyl analogues, several firearms, and $4,402 in U.S. currency in denominations consistent with narcotics sales.
At his plea allocution, Lambert admitted that he possessed and intended to distribute the seized controlled substances. Lambert also possessed a loaded handgun in his bedroom along with his cash and some of the controlled substances.
Lambert further admitted to selling and distributing a total of around 70 grams of methamphetamine on four occasions between July 25, 2022, and August 1, 2022, each time to a confidential informant during controlled buys under the observation of law enforcement investigators from his Ranger, West Virginia residence.
U.S. Attorney Thompson commended the investigative work of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Route 119 Drug Task Force, the Mingo County, the Logan County, the Boone County Sheriff’s Offices, and the West Virginia State Police.
