Atlantic City Man Pleads Guilty To Narcotics, Burglary, & Shoplifting

MAYS LANDING, NJ.- On Thursday, October 31, 2024, Francisco Corriano, 34, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Dorothy Incarvito-Garrabrant to charges in connection with five separate criminal cases throughout Atlantic County, New Jersey, involving narcotic, burglary, and shoplifting offenses.
In return for his guilty pleas, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Carriano be sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison concurrently on all the charges in each case. Following entering his guilty plea, Judge Incarvito-Garrabrant scheduled sentencing for January 10, 2025, and ordered Carriano to remain detained pending sentencing.
According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, the guilty pleas stem from incidents that began on November 6, 2023, when Carriano was arrested for shoplifting in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. On that date, members of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to Boscov’s for a reported shoplifting incident. Upon arrival, Police Officers apprehended Carriano as he fled the store on foot.
On December 12, 2023, Carriano was taken into custody in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for the distribution of cocaine. Around 10:40 a.m., Atlantic City Police Officers observed a drug transaction taking place in the area of South Texas Avenue. Carriano was observed distributing cocaine to another person. As Police Officers approached, Carriano attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended.
On January 11, 2024, Corriano was arrested again in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for heroin distribution. Around 7:35 p.m., Atlantic City Police Officers once again observed a drug transaction taking place in the area of South Texas Avenue. Corriano was observed distributing heroin to another person. Police Officer arrested him without incident.
On May 25, 2024, Carriano was arrested for an Atlantic City burglary. The day prior, at around 6:20 p.m., a suspect broke into Breathe Salt Spa, a business located in the Tropicana Hotel and Casino, and stole property belonging to the business, damaging other items inside. After an investigation by the Atlantic City Police Department, the suspect was identified as Corriano, who was quickly arrested and charged.
Finally, on September 24, 2024, Corriano was arrested for a burglary in Atlantic City. Police Officers were summoned to the FireWater Saloon at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in the City. Police Officers spoke with an employee, who indicated that an individual had unlawfully entered the bar and, took numerous bottles of alcohol, and damaged property belonging to the business. In total, the business suffered over $1,000 in losses. After an investigation, the suspect was identified as Corriano, who was subsequently taken into custody.
In pleading guilty, Corriano pleaded guilty to each of the offenses. Following his sentencing, Corriano will be transferred to the custody of the New Jersey State Department of Corrections to serve his term of incarceration.
