SCRANTON, PA.- On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, a Federal Grand Jury for the Middle District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment against Elijah Javier Rodriguez, 26, and Javier Justin Rodriguez, 29, both from the Bronx, New York, charging both with Possession of Firearms by Prohibited Persons.

Federal prohibits a person previously convicted of a felony from owning or possessing a firearm or ammunition.

Both Brothers Have Prior Convictions

According to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam, the charges unsealed in the indictment allege that both Elijah and Javier Rodriguez knowingly possessed firearms as prohibited persons due to their prior felony convictions on June 29, 2024, in the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas.

The indictment results from an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
