Parkersburg Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Narcotics Crime

CHARLESTON, W.VA.- On Thursday, November 7, 2024, Davis Eric West, II, 42, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Thomas E. Johnston to Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
Following entering his guilty plea on Thursday, Judge Johnston accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for March 3, 2025, at which time West faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine.
According to U.S. Attorney Will Thompson and documents filed with the district court, on April 8, 2024, members of the Parkersburg Police Department conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle being driven by West in Parkersburg, West Virginia. During the stop, Police Officers discovered quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl inside the vehicle and a Taurus 9mm handgun on West’s person.
During his allocation on Thursday, West admitted to the court that he possessed the discovered methamphetamine and fentanyl, and he intended to sell and distribute them throughout Parkersburg and surrounding communities in the Southern District of West Virginia.
U.S. Attorney Thompson commended the investigative work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Parkersburg Police Department.
