Mount Holly Man Indicted On Firearms & Drug Trafficking Crimes

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ.- On Thursday, November 7, 2024, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger reported, that a Federal Grand Jury for the District of New Jersey returned a multi-count Indictment against Cody Starr, 35, of Mount Holly, New Jersey, on firearms and drug trafficking offenses.
Charges Unsealed In The Indictment
The unsealing of the indictment charges Starr with one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon; one count of Possession of a Machine Gun; four counts of Distribution of Methamphetamine; four counts of Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime; and four counts of Engaging in the Business of Firearms Trafficking without a Federal License. Starr will be arraigned on a date to be determined by the U.S. District Court.
According to charging documents unsealed in the indictment, it has been alleged that from October 13, 2022, through November 8, 2022, undercover federal agents conducted multiple controlled purchases of firearms and methamphetamine from Starr at his Mount Holly residence. Agents purchased around 12b firearms, all qualifying as privately made firearms. During four of the sales, Starr was armed with a firearm, including a privately made machine gun.
As a result of the investigation, local, state, and federal law enforcement obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at Starr’s residence, during the search, investigators located over 50 privately made firearms, firearms ammunition magazines, various caliber ammunition, firearms parts, a 3D printer, and other firearms manufacturing equipment was recovered.
If convicted at trial on all the charges, Starr faces decades in federal prison and millions of dollars in fines.
