Paterson Woman Charged For Stabbing Woman Early Saturday Morning

PATERSON, NJ.- An apparent early Saturday altercation between two women turns violent, resulting in a 54-year-old Paterson, New Jersey woman hospitalized and a 37-year-old Paterson woman charged with her stabbing.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, just shortly before 3:30 a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing at 71 Park Avenue in the City of Paterson. Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 54-year-old Paterson woman having sustained multiple non-life-threatening stab wounds. The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment.
During the initial investigation, Police Officers identified the assailant as Quadasia Pierce, 37, of Paterson, New Jersey. Pierce was taken into custody a short distance from the stabbing.
Police File Charges Against Pierce
Following being taken into custody, Pierce was formally charged with first-degree Attempted Murder; second-degree Aggravated Assault; third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Pierce was processed on the charges and remanded to the custody of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office, pending transfer to a local county jail pending her first appearance. The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office will file a motion with the Superior Court to detain Pierce pending trial.
If convicted at trial, Pierce faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, which would require Pierce to serve 85% of her custodial term before becoming eligible for parole.
