WASHINGTON, DC.- On Friday, November 8, 2024, Francisco Flores-Lopez, 34, of Alexandria, Virginia, appeared in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Marisa Demeo to 144 months in prison, to be followed by ten years of supervised release for sexually abusing a 14-year-old Washington, D.C. girl that resulted in her pregnancy.

According to U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves, Flores-Lopez previously appeared in Superior Court on September 4, 2024, and pleaded guilty before Judge Demeo to first-degree Child Sexual Abuse. In handing down the sentence on Friday, in addition to the term of incarceration and supervised release, Judge Demeo ordered Flores-Lopez to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

According to charging documents filed with the court, the teen met Flores-Lopez over a social media application and met for the first time in June 2022, the same month the child turned fourteen. Flores-Lopez, who was 32 years old in June 2022, picked up the girl in his truck and brought her to Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C., where he engaged in sexual intercourse with the child in his truck.

Flores-Lopez Gets Child Pregnant

Between June 2022 and March 2023, Flores-Lopez engaged in various sexual acts with the child in Rock Creek Park. The girl became pregnant by Flores-Lopez and gave birth to a baby girl while she was still fourteen.

Even after giving birth, Flores-Lopez would come over to the girl’s house and continue to engage in sexual intercourse with the child. DNA testing, in this case, would corroborate that Flores-Lopez was the father of the baby born to the child as a result of the sexual abuse.
