Pleasants County Man Pleads Guilty To Failure To Update Sex Offender Status

CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Christopher Michael Wickey, 46, of Saint Marys, West Virginia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi to Failure to Update Sex Offender Registration.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Wickey was residing and working in Pleasants County, West Virginia, but failed to update his profile under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act. Wickey is required by law to register as a sex offender for life due to two prior convictions for child molestation in the State of Indiana.
When sentenced, Wickey faces up to ten years in federal prison. The actual term of imprisonment will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge based on the seriousness of the offense and Wickey’s prior criminal history.
