MOUNT HOLLY, NJ.- Today, a 34-year-old Mount Holly, New Jersey man, employed as a Burlington County Corrections Officer found himself on the other side of jail bars after he was taken into custody and jailed following being charged with Possession of Child Pornography.
According to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw, Austin Metivier, 34, of Mount Holly, was formally charged with one count of third-degree Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. Metivier, a corrections officer at the Burlington County Jail, was taken into custody today at the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, New Jersey.
Following being taken into custody, Metivier was processed on the charge and was transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility in Camden, pending future court proceedings in Burlington County Superior Court.
The charge stems from an investigation that began last month after members of the Pemberton Township were informed that a hard drive belonging to Metivier contained child pornography. A subsequent forensic examination of the hard drive uncovered multiple sexually explicit digital images of underage girls. Today, while executing a court-authorized search warrant at Metivier’s Mount Holly residence, Detectives seized numerous electronic devices that will be examined by Detectives of the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit.
