WHEELING, W.VA.- On Thursday, a 42-year-old Glen Easton, West Virginia man, and a 22-year-old Akron, Ohio man learned that they would be spending nearly a decade in federal prison for trafficking methamphetamine throughout Marshall County, West Virginia.

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, David Adam Stewart, 42, of Glen Easton, West Virginia, and Michael J. Lloyd, Jr., 22, of Akron, Ohio, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and were each sentenced by U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey to terms of imprisonment for the roles in a drug trafficking operation in Marshall County, West Virginia.

Stewart Sentenced To 87 Months

Judge Bailey sentenced Stewart to 87 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea to a charge of Distribution of Methamphetamine. Stewart has prior convictions in Marshall County Circuit Court for Distributing Fentanyl, Resulting in Death and a Firearms charge.

Lloyd Sentenced To 78 Months

Judge Bailey sentenced Lloyd to 78 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea to a charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton Reid and documents filed with the district court, Stewart, also known as “Adam,” was selling and distributing methamphetamine out of his Glen Easton residence. Lloyd was also selling and distributing methamphetamine from Stewart’s residence, as well as other homes throughout Marshall County, West Virginia.

Following an undercover investigation, law enforcement investigators obtained and executed court-authorized search warrants on two homes. During the searches, investigators found and seized 275 grams of methamphetamine, 8.5 grams of fentanyl, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency consistent with narcotics distribution activities.
