Woman Charged In September Stabbing Of Two People, One Fatally

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Wednesday, a 40-year-old Northeast, D.C. woman was taken into custody and charged in connection with the September 2024 Sunday afternoon stabbing of two people that claimed the life of a 23-year-old Northeast, D.C. man and left a woman hospitalized.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, the charges are the result of an investigation that began on Sunday, September 1, 2024, when shortly before 3:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a stabbing on the 900 Block of Division Avenue in Northeast, D.C.
As Police Officers were arriving on the scene, they were notified that a man, later identified as Gray Hall, 23, of Northeast, D.C., had arrived at the Sixth District Police Headquarters seeking help for multiple stab wounds. Mr. Hall was transported by DC Fire and Emergency Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts by medical staff, Mr. Hall tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
A second victim, an adult woman, was found suffering from multiple stab wounds on the 900 Block of Division Avenue. The woman was transported to an area hospital, where she was treated and subsequently released.
Jackson Identified As Suspect
During an ensuing investigation, Detectives were able to identify Shameka Jackson, 40, of Northeast, D.C., as the suspect and the individual responsible for the stabbing death of Mr. Hall and additionally injuring the woman.
Jackson Taken Into Custody On Wednesday
Accordingly, based on the investigation, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Jackson was located and taken into custody by members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and formally charged with second-degree Murder While Armed. Jackson was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Center pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
