Washington D.C. Man Pleads Guilty To Carjacking Of Southeast Parking Valet

WASHINGTON, DC.- A 38-year-old Washington, D.C. man will spend nearly a decade in prison after admitting guilt to carjacking a sport utility vehicle from a female parking valet drive on June 7, 2024, in Southeast, D.C.
On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Raymond Davese, 38, appeared in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Heidi M. Pasichow to one count of Carjacking; and one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
In return for the guilty plea and if accepted by the court, the U.S. Attorney’s Office will recommend that Davese be sentenced to 96 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release. Following the entering of the plea, Judge Pasichow scheduled sentencing for February 21, 2025.
According to U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, during the plea hearing, Davese admitted that he carjacked a valet driver on June 7, 2024. The victim had just parked a client’s Sport Utility Vehicle in a parking garage located at 221 Tingey Street in Southeast, D.C., when Davese attacked her from behind, put her in a headlock, and shocked her with a taser to her neck.
After Davese brought the woman to the ground, he took the keys from her and drove away in the Sport Utility Vehicle. Davese crashed the Sport Utility Vehicle a short distance later and was apprehended during the crash by members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department.
