Hagerstown Man Sentenced To Prison For Distributing Drugs In West Virginia

MARTINSBURG, W.VA.- A Maryland man was sentenced on Wednesday for trafficking large amounts of heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine throughout the Berkeley County, West Virginia area.

     On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Shawn Gorsira, 53, of Hagerstown, Maryland, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Thomas S. Kleeh to 50 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty pleas to Distributing Heroin, Fentanyl, and Cocaine.

     According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher and documents filed with the court, Gorsira was a large-scale illicit narcotics distributor who distributed large amounts of deadly narcotics throughout the Eastern Panhandle area of West Virginia. 

     Gorsira conspired with others to traffic large quantities of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine from Maryland into Berkeley County, West Virginia. Gorsira utilized his business in Hagerstown, Maryland, Top 3 Sources Appliances, as a central distribution hub to distribute the illicit narcotics.

     During the investigation and a court-authorized search of Gorsia’s Top 3 Sources Appliances business, Detectives uncovered and seized nearly nine kilograms of cocaine and a kilogram of heroin.
