North Bergen Man Charged For Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl

NORTH BERGEN, NJ.- Following an investigation, today, November 22, 2024, a 20-year-old North Bergen, New Jersey man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged with the alleged physical and sexual assault of a teen girl.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, earlier today, Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit formally charged Sebastian Chevasco, 20, of North Bergen, with second-degree Sexual Assault; and a Disorderly Persons Offense of Simple Assault.
Chevasco was taken into custody at his North Bergen home. He was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Hudson County Superior Court in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Victim Known To Chevasco
The charges stem from an investigation when the teen girl came forward and reported to Detectives that she was physically and sexually assaulted by Chevasco, who she knew, on October 14, 2024, at a North Bergen residence.
Hudson County Prosecutor Suarez credited Detectives of the Hudson County Special Victims Unit for the investigation and today’s arrest of Chevasco.
